A Stone Slab Shield is piece of Armor for the Hammermage faction. All enemies capable of dropping combat equipment have a chance to drop Stone Slab Shields, provided that the player has progressed through the main story to the point where they have chosen a Faction, as before this point only non-faction equipment can be received.

Players who have chosen the Hammermage faction are able to receive Stone Slab Shields in Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic Rarity. Players who chose the Guardian or Cryoknight factions will receive Stone Slab Shields much less frequently, and only in Rare rarity, as these items are intended for other factions to use with the Infusion system to make Epic rarity shields for their own faction.

Stone Slab Shields are also able to be crafted by the Stonemason profession, at an item level up to the stonemason level of the crafter. Different level ranges of Stone Slab Shield require different variants of the materials, but they all require 4 Flint (Etched).

Variants

The visual appearance of a Stone Slab Shield is dependent only on its level. Stone Slab Shields crafted by the Stonemason profession use different variants of the materials for each different visual appearance of the Stone Slab Shield.

Dyes

Dyes may be applied to Stone Slab Shields at The Color Wheel or City Dyes, which change the colour of some parts of the item without changing the variant or level.

Combat Stats

As a piece of Armor, Stone Slab Shields have resistance stats for all 6 damage types. The total resistance of a Stone Slab Shield obeys a rigid formula with no variation:

Strength=6×L+90×R+10

Where

  • L is the Item Level
  • R is the Rarity, expressed as number of stars

This total resistance is divided up between the 6 damage types with some variation for each individual value. Since the shield is for the Hammermage faction, the Arborae resistance will be on average 20 points lower than that of the other damage types. See Armor for a more detailed explanation of how resistances are calculated.

From this formula it can be seen that each increase in Rarity of a Stone Slab Shield is equivalent to 15 additional levels. Thus a Stone Slab Shield at level 0 Epic, at level 15 Rare, at level 30 Uncommon, or at level 45 Common will all have exactly the same total resistance of 370.

A list of all different level and rarity combinations of Stone Slab Shields, including their sell values, can be found here:
