The most efficient place to fell Oak Trees is in the vicinity of the Stump Clearing, where there are 5 trees close to each other, and a storage rift. |
The 5 trees shown in the picture are close enough together that all 5 may be chopped in sequence before they respawn. This path is marked in red, and a cycle takes takes 51.5 seconds, for 10.3 seconds per tree or 549 logs per hour. However after every 24 logs chopped the players inventory will be full, and the logs must dropped, sold, or banked. |

Discarding the logs by dropping them on the floor is the fastest option, and can be done with practically no time loss. This maintains 349 logs per hour, at the cost of giving no items or coins. |
Following the route in the image will maintain 100% woodcutting uptime. Utilize the Storage Rift for banking logs for later use. The white dotted line indicates the pathing for reaching the 5th tree. |
Depositing the oak logs in the Storage Rift in the nearby Tangled Path is the second fastest option. It is recommended to traverse the red cycle anticlockwise, such that on every 5th cycle when only 4 trees need to be chopped, the Eastern tree in Canopy Lane is skipped to instead travel to and use the storage rift. This 5th cycle is actually the same cycle time of 51.5 seconds but gives 4 logs, resulting in a total value of 335 logs per hour. This provides logs into the Lumber Bank, the most convenient location to use them for training Carpentry, saving money from buying those logs in the future from Gwen. |
Selling the Oak logs as you chop them is not recommended, as is is a considerable distance to the shop where they may be sold, however after banking it is possible to make trips between the lumber bank and the shop to sell the logs. Players without access to the Storage Rift may teleport to Hopeforest Central Portal Stone and run to either the the shop or the bank as they choose, however unlocking the rifts should be a priority for anyone intending to chop a considerable number of Oak Trees. |

An Oak Tree is a Woodcutter Skill node located in Hopeforest. Harvesting an Oak Tree requires a Hand saw and yields an Oak Log. The quality of the log depends on the player's Woodcutter level, starting with Coarse Oak Log at level 2. Oak Branches of various tiers can also be lopped using Tree Loppers, costing 9 knowledge points, beginning at level 56 woodcutter.
Oak Trees take 3.5 seconds to fell with a saw, and have a 45 second respawn timer.
