An Ash Tree is a species of tree located in Hopeforest that Woodcutters can interact with.

Ash Trees may be felled with a Hand saw starting from level 0 woodcutter, yielding an ash log. Its branches may also be passively lopped using Tree Loppers from level 43 woodcutter.

Ash Trees take 3.5 seconds to fell with a saw, and have a 45 second respawn timer.

The most efficient place to fell Ash Trees is in Timberwell Green, where there are 6 trees close to each other, the shop, and the bank.

The 6 trees to the north are close enough together that all 6 may be chopped in sequence before they respawn. This path is marked in red. The southern Ash Tree in Timberwell Green is far from the other 6, so should be avoided. This red cycle takes takes 60 seconds, for 10 seconds per tree or 360 logs per hour. However after every 24 logs chopped the players inventory will be full, and the logs must dropped, sold, or banked. It is possible to make a cycle of only 5 trees for a very marginal increase chop rate, around +10 logs per hour, however this requires very precise actions and chopping 5 on a cycle makes the cycles not synchronise with the inventory, so time is lost between inventories.

Discarding the logs by dropping them on the floor is the fastest option, and can be done with practically no time loss. This maintains 360 logs per hour, at the cost of giving no items or coins.

Selling the ash logs is the second fastest option, and takes as little as 10 seconds to travel along the blue path to Gwen's Lumber, sell the logs, and return. Selling every 24 logs reduces the trees felled per hour to ~345, a very minor loss, but does earn significant coins.

Depositing the logs into the Lumber Bank is the slowest option, taking 35 seconds to travel along the black path to the bank, deposit the logs, and return to the next tree in the cycle. Deppositing every 24 logs reduces the trees felled per hour to ~314, but provides logs in the most convenient location to use them for training Carpentry, saving money from buying those logs in the future from Gwen.
