A Chainmail Torso is piece of Armor for the Cryoknight faction, worn in the torso slot. All enemies capable of dropping combat equipment have a chance to drop Chainmail Torsos, provided that the player has progressed through the main story to the point where they have chosen a Faction, as before this point only non-faction equipment can be received.

Players who have chosen the Cryoknight faction are able to receive Chainmail Torsos in Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic Rarity. Players who chose the Hammermage or Guardian factions will receive Chainmail Torsos much less frequently, and only in Rare rarity, as these items are intended for other factions to use with the Infusion system to make Epic rarity armor for their own faction.

Chainmail Torsos are also able to be crafted by the Armorer profession, at an item level up to the Armorer level of the crafter.

Variants

The visual appearance of a Chainmail Torso is dependent only on its level. Chainmail Torsos crafted by the Armorer profession use different variants of the materials for each different visual appearance of the Chainmail Torso.

Combat Stats

As a piece of Armor, Chainmail Torsos have resistance stats for all 6 damage types. The total resistance of a Chainmail Torso obeys a rigid formula with no variation:

Where

• $L$ is the Item Level
• $R$ is the Rarity, expressed as number of stars

This total resistance is divided up between the 6 damage types with some variation for each individual value. Since the armor is for the Cryoknight faction, the Tempestae resistance will be on average 20 points lower than that of the other damage types. See Armor for a more detailed explanation of how resistances are calculated.

From this formula it can be seen that each increase in Rarity of a Chainmail Torso is equivalent to 15 additional levels. Thus a Chainmail Torso at level 0 Epic, at level 15 Rare, at level 30 Uncommon, or at level 45 Common will all have exactly the same total resistance of 370.
