Throwing Knives are a two-handed ranged Weapon for the Cryoknight faction. They have an attack speed of 1.75 seconds and deal Infernae damage. All enemies capable of dropping combat equipment have a chance to drop Throwing Knives, provided that the player has progressed through the main story to the point where they have chosen a Faction, as before this point only non-faction equipment can be received.

Players who have chosen the Cryoknight faction are able to receive Throwing Knives in Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic Rarity. Players who chose the Hammermage or Guardian factions will receive Throwing Knives much less frequently, and only in Rare rarity, as these items are intended for other factions to use with the Infusion system to make Epic rarity weapons for their own faction.

Throwing Knives are also able to be crafted by the Blacksmith profession, at an item level up to the Blacksmith level of the crafter. Different level ranges of Throwing Knives require different variants of the materials, but they all require 3 Flantium Ingots and 3 Pine Poles.

Variants[edit | edit source]

The visual appearance of Throwing Knives is dependent only on their level. Throwing Knives crafted by the Blacksmith profession use different variants of the materials for each different visual appearance of the Throwing Knives.

Combat Stats[edit | edit source]

All Throwing Knives attack at a speed of 1.75 seconds. They all deal Impact damage, with a chance to convert the damage to Infernae. The weapon strength and elemental chance of Throwing Knives obey formulae with slight variation:

Strength=L+15×R+[02]
Chance=[3049]%

Where

  • L is the Item Level
  • R is the Rarity, expressed as number of stars

There is random variation in the stats for Throwing Knives, determined by the terms [02] for the strength and [3049] for the elemental chance. Generally, a weapon with a lower roll on the chance will have a higher roll for the strength.

From this formula it can be seen that each increase in Rarity of Throwing Knives is equivalent to 15 additional levels. Thus Throwing Knives at level 0 Epic, at level 15 Rare, at level 30 Uncommon, or at level 45 Common will all have the same minimum combat strength of 60.

Common and Uncommon Javelins have 3 ammunition, whereas Rare and Epic Javelins have 4 ammunition.

The strongest possible Throwing Knives is a level 500 Epic Throwing Knives with a maximum strength roll, which have the following stats:
