Captain Degreene's Office[edit source]
Talking to Captain Jal Degreene[edit source]
- Player: Ma'am...
- Captain Jal Degreene: A moment please Player, I just need to deal with this... civilian.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: Jal Degreene, do not try to brush me off. This is important.
- Captain Jal Degreene: We're off our feet dealing with intangible problems. I don't have time for your theoretical ramblings about Vilzax.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: Ramblings? Our tangible problems are omens, a direct result of the spread of Vilzax.
- Choose option
- What do you know of Vilzax?
- Player: What do you know of Vilzax?
- Naybeth the Philosopher: Vilzax is a dark magic of an ancient civilization. For long it has been subdued, but now we bear witness to new omens.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: Vilzax has awoken and the world is in danger.

- My mission in the mine was successful.
- Player: My mission in the mine was successful. I found the missing squad of guards and another evil crystal.
- Player: The crystal mutated the guards into vicious monsters. I was forced to kill them, before diffusing the crystal.
- Player: Then I discovered who placed the crystal. A strange sorcerer in red robes, with a golden bull headpiece.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: A golden bull headpiece? You've confirmed my suspicions. Agents of Vilzax are behind our problems.
- Captain Jal Degreene: Not more of your Vilzax talk.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: Player please come with me to inform Lord Brannof of this latest development. We must act before all is lost.
- Choose option
- Okay, I'll go and talk to Brannof.
- Player: Okay, I'll go and talk to Brannof.
- I'm not sure the captain will like that.
- Player: I'm not sure the captain will like that.

- What do you mean by omens?
- Player: What do you mean by omens?
- Naybeth the Philosopher: There are ancient magics spread throughout this world.
- Player: I'm familiar with that fact. Arborae, Cryonae, Tempestae etc.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: In ancient times there was a magic known as Vilzax. Only through the combined efforts of other factions was it subdued.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: For centuries Vilzax has been dormant, but when certain omens occur, they can drive a particular magic type into ascendancy.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: The storm over the sea is an omen of Vilzax. The sudden aggression of the goblins is an omen of Vilzax. The giant newts appearing in the river are an omen.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: Left unchecked, an ascendant magic can change the very nature of the world, which is disastrous if that magic is Vilzax.

Seeing Lord Brnnof[edit source]
Talking to Captain Jal Degreene[edit source]
- Captain Jal Degreene: I guess you better go apprise Lord Brannof of this situation with the sorcerer and crystals.
Talking to Lord Brannof or Naybeth[edit source]
- Naybeth the Philosopher: This is the guard that I was talking about sir.
- Lord Brannof: Ahem yes. Hello young [man/(Transcript missing. edit)]. Naybeth tells me that you have evidence of a sorcerer of Lasharak, up to no good.
- Choose option
- What's a sorcerer of Lasharak?
- Player: What's a sorcerer of Lasharak?
- Naybeth the Philosopher: That sorcerer with the red robes you mentioned, he matches the description of a sorcerer of Lasharak.
- Choose otpion
- A sorcerer? Nope doesn't ring any bells.
- Player: A sorcerer? Nope doesn't ring any bells.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: What? Why would you deny your earlier claim? Has the cult of Lasharak got to you?
- Player: No. I have a memory like a sieve. Who were you again?
- (Shows the initial options.)
- But who or what is Lasharak?
- Player: But who or what is Lasharak?
- Naybeth the Philosopher: That is an area of philosophical debate. Some sources consider Lasharak to be a Monstrous servant of Vilzax, others consider it a myth, others claim it is a dark elemental spirit.
- (Shows the initial options.)
- Oh him! I believe he has been planting sources of corruption.
- Player: Oh him! I believe he has been planting sources of corruption.
- (Continues below.)
- (If [What's a sorcerer of Lasharak?] was selected:) But who or what is Lasharak?
- Player: But who or what is Lasharak?

- Yes. I believe he has been planting sources of corruption.
- Player: Yes. I believe he has been planting sources of corruption.
- Player: I discovered a corrupting crystal. A witness told me it had been placed by a sorcerer wearing red robes.
- Lord Brannof: Is this witness trustworthy?
- Choose option
- I don't know her very well.
- Player: I don't know her very well.
- Lord Brannof: That doesn't sound very convincing.
- Naybeth the Philosopher: But the description does match my existing theories and this is the first lead we've had on a possible cause for the magic storm.
- Lord Brannof: I suppose.
- (Continues below.)
- I can't see she'd have a reason to lie.
- Player: I can't see she'd have a reason to lie. I just saved her from mutants created by the crystal.
- (Continues below.)
- Naybeth the Philosopher: We need to find this sorcerer and put a stop to his evil.
- Lord Brannof: Very well. My people shall keep an eye for anyone matching that description. Player, in the mean time I have a task for you.
- Lord Brannof: On their last raid, the goblins stole a valuable artifact, the Horn of Hopeport. I need you to venture back into the mine and retrieve it.
- Player: I can try and track that down for you. It's a big mine to search though.
- Lord Brannof: That is a concern. Hopefully the goblins stashed it in the part of the mine they're headquartered in. They'll want to keep it close.
- I need to go.
- Player: I need to go.
