Before killing the guards
Invoke dryad leaf
- Dryad: Thou must find the source of corruption in the mine.
- Player: I've found it, but it's being protected by mutated town guards.
- Dryad: Oh dear. I hope you can find a way to defeat them.
Investigate giant crystal
- There is no time to investigate the crystal while there's hostile mutants in the area.

- You try to break the crystal with your pick, but you don't even leave a scratch.

- There's no time to experiment with the crystal while there's hostile mutants in the area.

Investigate
- The crystal has the same corrupting magic in it as you saw in the Hopeforest crystal.
- The dryad requested you contact her via the dryad leaf if you found this source of corruption.
Using dryad leaf
- The dryad had suggested you contact her when you found this crystal, which you can do if you invoke your leaf from your quest inventory.
Invoke dryad leaf
Only on the first time
- Dryad: Salutaions.
- Player: I have found the source of corruption. It's another of those crystals.
- Dryad: Thou hast done well. Like you did in the forest, thou wilt need to find other sources of distilled benign magic to push the corrupt magic out.
- Dryad: I detect the mine has some useful sources of magic. Each area has it's own special blend of accumulated magics.
- Dryad: I sense some magic that is carried by one who is short of stature and not too far from the crystal.
- Dryad: I sense some magic somewhat south of a waterfall, protected by a slumbering creature.
- Dryad: I sense some magic in a nook in the far west of the mine.
- Dryad: I sense some magic near the crystal attached to a creature of six limbs.
Afterwards
- Dryad: Salutaions. You still need to use more magic on the crystal.

- Dryad: I sense some magic that is carried by one who is short of stature and not too far from the crystal.

Mining glowing stalagmite
Before level 14 in Miner
- You need to be at least a level 14 Miner to break off the stalagmite..
After level 14 in Miner
- You put the stalagmite into your Main Story Quest inventory.
Picking glowing moss
- You pick the glowing cave moss and put it into your Main Story Quest inventory.
Killing glowing cockroach
- You pluck a glowing leg from the fallen cockroach and add it into your Main Story Quest inventory.
Talking to Thaddeus Torrelli
Before finding Gretel
- Thaddeus Torrelli: How's it going. Any news on my Gretel yet?
- Player: I've killed the mutants, but I haven't found her yet.
- Thaddeus Torrelli: Some promising news at least. I sure hope Gretel is okay.
After finding Gretel
- Thaddeus Torrelli: How's it going. Any news on my Gretel yet?
- Player: I've killed the mutants and found Gretel safe and sound.
- Thaddeus Torrelli: That's great, how can I ever thank you?
- Player: Don't thank me just yet. The crystal is still spreading corruption. I'm trying to disable it now.
- Thaddeus Torrelli: If you could. Then I'll have even more to thank you for.
Before cleansing the giant crystal
- Thaddeus Torrelli: Have you managed to disable that crystal yet?
- Player: No, I am still looking for glowing magical items from the mine.
- Thaddeus Torrelli: Sorry, I've not seen anything like that.

Use dryad leaf
- The leaf doesn't contain the right kind of magic to heal the crystal.
Investigate before fully cleansing
- You can still feel waves of evil pulsing from the crystal.
After fully healing the crystal
- The crystal has been healed. Time to report back to Captain Delgreene.
