The Mutant Newt (level 15) will remain in the water surrounding the ferry, during which time it is untargetable. The Mutant Newt will swim around until it has picked a side of the ferry - front, port or starboard - to attack. It will then leap onto its chosen side of the ferry, causing considerable damage and a 5-second stun to the player should they be hit by it. The leap damage hits in a 2x3 area, leaving players to retreat to the opposite side of the newt to avoid damage. After the leap, the newt will proceed to damage the ferry by chewing on it. The player can attack the newt until the side of the ferry is reduced to approximately half its maximum hit points.

When the newt has finished its attack, it will retreat back underwater before attacking again. During this time the player is able to repair the ferry. When timed correctly all damage can be repaired before the newt leaps again.

Each side of the ferry has its own independent health value, which can be damaged and repaired independently. If a side is fully destroyed, the player will be sent back to the crossing, and will then have to try the fight again.

Given that the newt only damages the player during its slam attack phase, it's possible for a under-leveled player to complete this boss fight if they can avoid damage and keep the ferry repaired.
