Progress Checklist[edit | edit source]

Walkthrough[edit | edit source]

Quest Start[edit | edit source]

Corporal Binns wants to take you on a training drill in the Hopeforest, but before you can start, you're he wants you to do some bow training with Robyn Nockright. This will unlock the ranged weapon slot within the games combat system.

Bow Training[edit | edit source]

Guard Training[edit | edit source]

Before Robyn will speak to you, you're going to have to have 15  Guard.

  1. Start off by heading to the Sparring Area, you can access this west of the Training Ground. here you will duel Level 0 Sparring Guards. Due to a lack of equipment, it is recommended to stay here until 5 .
  2. Head to the Town Square and head east through Old Street West onto Old Street East, here you will find Level 2 Deathcrows. If overcrowded, go east to the Town Gates. to find more of them. Stay here until 10 .
  3. Heading north of the Town Gates to enter the North Walls. You will find Level 6 Goblin Soldiers. This is your first aggressive monster. Casting the Immunity spell will keep you safe until it's duration. You can also cast immunity if you need to escape the fight. Stay here until 12  or continue until 15 .
  4. Now head south two maps to reach the South Walls. Here you'll find Level 8 Goblin Chiefs. If they are too strong, you can go back to the previous monster.

Ranged Training[edit | edit source]

After reaching 15  speak to Robyn. He presents the importance of keeping his bow skills finely tuned, in order to help defend Hopeport.

  • Select: Option 1: "Please can you show me how to use a bow?"

Robyn will hand you a Common Recruit's Bow then explain that you want to start off five paces away from your target before initiating combat. This is the max range you can hit your target with a ranged weapon and provides you with free hits at the start of the fight. You only switch to melee if they get close, or you run out of ammo. You only get three or four ammo, depending on the weapons rarity. Ammo replenishes after every fight.

Overall Training[edit | edit source]

Before Corporal Binns will take you to the forest, you must level up your professions in Hopeport and reach 60  Overall level. This is done easily in any way you see fit. As we will have 15  Guard as a part of this, we need to get 45 more levels of our choice. We can split this between all of them, but it is recommended to get started with:

  1. 15  Chef. This will provide you some early coins being so fresh in the game. Head to Stone Street and trade Kevin at his stall. For less clicking, you will be able to buy Mixed Vegetables and cook Vegetable Stews once you hit 8 . These use 1 ingredient per food, so buy 24 vegetables.
  2. 15  Forager. You will need reagents to start crafting potions using Alchemist. At low levels, there is also a route which let's you grind knowledge points very quickly once you get 18 , making this a valuable first profession.
  3. 15  Alchemist. After doing some Foraging, you will hopefully have some ingredients to get started. You will need Brown Kelp to make the first Healing potion. Use all your banked ingredients to make whatever you can, then forage for Brown Kelp exclusively until you have made enough potions to reach 15.

After reaching 15  Guard, completing Robyn's bow training and then reaching 60  Overall, report back to Corporal Binns again at the south eastern corner of the training grounds.
