A '''Bolas''' is a one-handed ranged [[Weapon]] for the [[Hammermage]] faction. They have an attack speed of 1.875 seconds and deal exclusively {{plink|Impact|pic=Impact damage icon|size=18px}} damage. All enemies capable of dropping combat equipment have a chance to drop Bolas, provided that the player has progressed through the main story to the point where they have chosen a [[Faction]], as before this point only non-faction equipment can be received.

Players who have chosen the Hammermage faction are able to receive Bolas in <strong style="color:#48ab89">Common</strong>, <strong style="color:#3969b8">Uncommon</strong>, <strong style="color:#8d449f">Rare</strong>, or <strong style="color:#da8837">Epic</strong> [[Rarity]]. Players who chose the [[Guardian]] or [[Cryoknight]] factions will receive Bolas much less frequently, and only in <strong style="color:#8d449f">Rare</strong> rarity, as these items are intended for other factions to use with the [[Infusion]] system to make <strong style="color:#da8837">Epic</strong> rarity weapons for their own faction.

Bolas are also able to be crafted by the [[Stonemason]] profession, at an item level up to the stonemason level of the crafter. Different level ranges of Bolas require different variants of the materials, but they all require 2 [[Andesite (Etched)]].

==Variants==

The visual appearance of a Bolas is dependent only on its level. Bolas crafted by the Stonemason profession use different variants of the materials for each different visual appearance of the Bolas.

==Combat Stats==

All Bolas attack at a speed of 1.875 seconds, and as one-handed weapons can be wielded alongside a [[Shield]]. They all deal only {{plink|Impact|pic=Impact damage icon|size=18px}} damage, with no [[Element]] chance. The weapon strength of a Bolas obeys a rigid formula with no variation:

From this formula it can be seen that each increase in Rarity of a Bolas is equivalent to 15 additional levels. Thus a Bolas at level 0 <strong style="color:#da8837">Epic</strong>, at level 15 <strong style="color:#8d449f">Rare</strong>, at level 30 <strong style="color:#3969b8">Uncommon</strong>, or at level 45 <strong style="color:#48ab89">Common</strong> will all have exactly the same combat strength of '''65'''. By the variants table above, the <strong style="color:#da8837">Epic</strong>, <strong style="color:#8d449f">Rare</strong>, and <strong style="color:#3969b8">Uncommon</strong> Bolas would use the "basic" appearance, but the <strong style="color:#48ab89">Common</strong> Bolas would be a high enough level to use the "moderate" appearance.

The strongest possible Bolas is a level 500 <strong style="color:#da8837">Epic</strong> Bolas, which has the following stats:
