A '''Stone Chunk Shield''' is a piece of [[Armor]] for the [[Hammermage]] faction. All enemies capable of dropping combat equipment have a chance to drop Stone Chunk Shields, provided that the player has progressed through the main story to the point where they have chosen a [[Faction]], as before this point only non-faction equipment can be received.

Players who have chosen the Hammermage faction are able to receive Stone Chunk Shields in {{Common}}, {{Uncommon}}, {{Rare}}, or {{Epic}} [[Rarity]]. Players who chose the [[Guardian]] or [[Cryoknight]] factions will receive Stone Chunk Shields much less frequently, and only in {{Rare}} rarity, as these items are intended for other factions to use with the [[Infusion]] system to make {{Epic}} rarity shields for their own faction.

Stone Chunk Shields are also able to be crafted by the [[Stonemason]] profession, at an item level up to the stonemason level of the crafter. Different level ranges of Stone Chunk Shield require different variants of the materials, but they all require 4 [[Andesite (Etched)]].

==Variants==

The visual appearance of a Stone Chunk Shield is dependent only on its level. Stone Chunk Shields crafted by the Stonemason profession use different variants of the materials for each different visual appearance of the Stone Chunk Shield.

===Dyes===

Dyes may be applied to Stone Chunk Shields at [[The Color Wheel]] or [[City Dyes]], which change the colour of some parts of the item without changing the variant or level.

==Combat Stats==

As a piece of Armor, Stone Chunk Shields have resistance stats for all 6 damage types. The total resistance of a Stone Chunk Shield obeys a rigid formula with no variation:

This total resistance is divided up between the 6 damage types with some variation for each individual value. Since the shield is for the Hammermage faction, the [[File:Arborae damage icon.png|18px]] Arborae resistance will be on average 20 points lower than that of the other damage types. From this formula it can be seen that each increase in Rarity of a Stone Chunk Shield is equivalent to 15 additional levels. Thus a Stone Chunk Shield at level 0 {{Epic}}, at level 15 {{Rare}}, at level 30 {{Uncommon}}, or at level 45 {{Common}} will all have exactly the same total resistance of '''370'''.
