'''Rib Torso''' is a piece of [[Armor]] for the [[Guardian]] faction, worn in the torso slot. All enemies capable of dropping combat equipment have a chance to drop a Rib Torso after the player has progressed through the main story to the point where they have chosen a [[Faction]]. Before this point, only non-faction equipment can be received.

Players who have chosen the Guardian faction can receive a Rib Torso in {{Common}}, {{Uncommon}}, {{Rare}}, or {{Epic}} [[Rarity]]. Players who chose the [[Hammermage]] or [[Cryoknight]] factions will receive Rib Torso much less frequently, and only in {{Rare}} rarity, as these items are intended for other factions to use with the [[Infusion]] system to make {{Epic}} rarity armor for their faction.

Rib Torsos can also be crafted by the [[Armorer]] profession, at an item level up to the Armorer level of the crafter.

==Variants==

The visual appearance of a Rib Torso is dependent on its level. Rib Torsos crafted by the Armorer profession use different variants of the materials for each different visual appearance of the Rib Torso.

==Combat Stats==

As a piece of Armor, Rib Torsos have resistance stats for all 6 damage types. The total resistance of a Rib Torso obeys a rigid formula with no variation:

This total resistance is divided up between the 6 damage types with some variation for each individual value. Since the armor is for the Guardian faction, the [[File:Cryonae damage icon.png|18px]] Cryonae resistance will be on average 20 points lower than the other damage types. From this formula, it can be seen that each increase in Rarity of a Rib Torso is equivalent to 15 additional levels. Thus a Rib Torso at level 0 {{Epic}}, at level 15 {{Rare}}, at level 30 {{Uncommon}}, or at level 45 {{Common}} will all have exactly the same total resistance of '''370'''.
