Certain professions have specialized equipment that can only be used within that profession, which are stored in dedicated equipment slots found within the profession's sub-menus; however, not all professions require equipment. Purchasing new profession equipment unlocks new activities and new items to gather or produce.
Profession equipment can be enchanted with coins at the Enchantress in Hopeport to offer an incremental experience gain.
