The magical expansion orb is a reward from The Brannof Inheritance quest, granting an additional 16 untuned equipment slots when used on the Quartermaster bank. If the quest has already been completed prior to the orb's introduction to the game, it can be claimed from the treasure chest in the Hidden Cavern.
