Factions in Brighter Shores allow the player character to specialise in using a specific combat style, though all factions have access to melee, ranged and magic. Players start off as a guard with the option to choose between being a Cryoknight, Guardian or Hammermage.
Joining a faction takes place during the Nullify the corruption section of the Main Story quest in Hopeforest. This is a permanent choice, and cannot be changed later.

Factions
Cryoknight
The Cryoknight class in Brighter Shores harnesses the power of ice and cold magic to freeze and shatter their enemies. These formidable warriors are known for their icy demeanor and their ability to manipulate frost to both defend and attack in battle. Cryoknights are often seen as the guardians of the frozen wastes, feared by foes and respected by allies.
- Cryoknights () faction is focused on melee combat, using weapons like swords alongside a shield. Cryoknights are strong against Guardians but weak against Hammermages.
Guardian
The Guardian class embodies the essence of protection and defense. These noble warriors are skilled in the art of shielding themselves and their allies from harm. With a focus on resilience and fortitude, Guardians stand firm in the face of danger, using their strength and unwavering resolve to shield those in need. They are the bulwarks of hope in the darkest of times.
Guardians are users of Arborae magic. Guardians use weapons and armour crafted from bone and deal primarily Arborae damage. Guardians are strong against Hammermages but weak against Cryoknights.
Hammermage
The Hammermage class combines the brute force of a warrior with the arcane prowess of a mage. Masters of elemental magic and physical combat, Hammermages wield enchanted hammers to crush their enemies with devastating blows. These versatile spellcasters are known for their ability to unleash powerful spells while wielding heavy weaponry, making them a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.
- The Hammermage () faction fights using a mix of melee and magic.
Hammermages is the faction infused of Tempestae magic which utilize both stone gear and lightning magics. The primary weapons they use are hammers. Hammermages are strong against Cryoknights but weak against Guardians.
