A '''Cuirass''' is piece of [[Armor]] for the [[Cryoknight]] faction, worn in the torso slot. All enemies capable of dropping combat equipment have a chance to drop Cuirasss, provided that the player has progressed through the main story to the point where they have chosen a [[Faction]], as before this point only non-faction equipment can be received.
Players who have chosen the Cryoknight faction are able to receive Cuirasss in {{Common}}, {{Uncommon}}, {{Rare}}, or {{Epic}} [[Rarity]]. Players who chose the [[Hammermage]] or [[Guardian]] factions will receive Cuirasss much less frequently, and only in {{Rare}} rarity, as these items are intended for other factions to use with the [[Infusion]] system to make {{Epic}} rarity armor for their own faction.
Cuirasss are also able to be crafted by the [[Armorer]] profession, at an item level up to the Armorer level of the crafter.

The visual appearance of a Cuirass is dependent only on its level. Cuirasss crafted by the Armorer profession use different variants of the materials for each different visual appearance of the Cuirass.

==Combat Stats==
As a piece of Armor, Cuirasss have resistance stats for all 6 damage types. The total resistance of a Cuirass obeys a rigid formula with no variation:

This total resistance is divided up between the 6 damage types with some variation for each individual value. Since the armor is for the Cryoknight faction, the [[File:Tempestae damage icon.png|18px]] Tempestae resistance will be on average 20 points lower than that of the other damage types. See [[Armor]] for a more detailed explanation of how resistances are calculated.
From this formula it can be seen that each increase in Rarity of a Cuirass is equivalent to 15 additional levels. Thus a Cuirass at level 0 {{Epic}}, at level 15 {{Rare}}, at level 30 {{Uncommon}}, or at level 45 {{Common}} will all have exactly the same total resistance of '''370'''.
