Alchemy is used to make [[Potions]] with a variety of beneficial effects from different reagents, which are obtained from the [[Forager]], [[Gatherer]], [[Miner]], and [[Merchant]] professions. Players are also able to buy any reagent which they have the alchemy level to use from from the [[Zeltay Tramagan|Reagent Vendor]], located in [[Town Square|Hopeport Town Square]]. Brewing potions also requires [[Bottle|Bottles]], which can be purchased from Ebsworth in the [[Apothecary]]. for {{Currency|20}}.

Each potion (with the exception of the 10% potion healing) use two reagents. These are taken to the [[Reagent Preparation Station]] where they are combined into a preparation[[Preparation]], ready to be made into a potion. Reagents may be stored in the [[Potion Reagents Bank]] but preparations may not be. Each preparation takes 5.0 seconds to make and awards alchemy XP.
