During the 2024 Christmas event, players can collect up to 20 unique hats while doing active activities that reward knowledge. Hats are obtained at fixed intervals, with a hat being rewarded upon gaining 66.666...% knowledge after the start of the event or obtaining the previous hat.

Passive activities do not reward knowledge, and thus no Christmas hats. The type of hat is random and does not reflect anything in particular about the player or the activity they are performing. For example, it is also possible to receive a duplicate hat, which can be swapped with another player. An unlimited amount of multiples of each hat can be collected. The event will end in early January 2025, after which it will no longer be possible to collect the Christmas 2024 hats.

Collected hats are stored in a specific transmog inventory and do not use a player's normal inventory or banking slots. They offer no stat bonuses and are purely cosmetic, able to be applied over the player's head slot using the transmog system. The transmog system was first released together with this event.

Swapping hats
Christmas hats from the event can be traded 1-to-1 with another player using the Nearby Players section of the Community interface or in the chat. The Christmas hat each player is currently wearing is the one that they will trade.

Hats
There are four types of hats that come in five different colors each. There are 20 different hats, so 1333.33% (13⅓) knowledge must be collected to be able to have at least one of all hats, after swapping duplicates.
