'''Mutant Newt''' is a [[Monsters#Boss monster|boss monster]] residing in the south-east of [[Hopeforest]]. It is encountered after boarding the fixed ferry as part of the main story quest,during [[Nullify the corruption]]; although access to Hopeforest is the only requirement to access the fight.
The Mutant Newt is a corrupted form of the [[Giant Newt]] must be defeated in order to cross [[Ferry Crossing]] and is part of the [[Nullify the corruption]] main story [[quest]].
Defeating the Giant Newt grants access to [[Ferry South Shore]].
 
During the boss fight, theThe Mutant Newt haswill tworemain phases:in activelythe damagingwater surrounding the ferry, andduring idlingwhich init theis water.untargetable, Ituntil willit starthas everypicked instancea ofside damagingof the ferry with- afront, telegraphedport leapor starboard - to attack. thatIt will causethen leap onto its chosen side of the ferry, causing considerable damage to the player and a 5 second stun should they be hit by it. After the leap, the newt will proceed to damage the ferry only stopping after dealingfor approximately half theits totalmaximum hp of the structurehitpoints, before returning to the water andfor enteringa it'sbrief idleperiod phase.and The newt can attack fromrepeating the front, port and starboardcycle. Each side of has it'sits own HP bar which can be damaged and repaired independently.
