Items can be received as drops from [[monsters]] and searchable [[scenery]] such as [[trunk]]s. When [[coins]] are received, they are put automatically into the money pouch found in the [[toolbelt]], while other drops appear on the ground for the player to take. Items can also be received from some [[non-player character]]s and scenery, or purchased from [[shop]]s without being drops. Items can sometimes be placed into [[bank]]s for storage and later retrieval.
