New Feature - Leaderboards

The leaderboards are now active!

If you wish to use the leaderboards you will first need to opt-in to them. You can do this from the privacy settings section of the settings interface.

Then click on the 'community' interface (the same place your friends list is displayed) to see your rank.

Quality of life improvements

  • Add an additional reward to the quest 'The Brannof Inheritance'. If you have already completed the quest you can claim the additional reward from the treasure chest.
  • Change the 'Target is already engaged with another player.' message to be a notification, instead of a dialog.
  • Add damage kind icon to the weapon crafting design books.
  • Players in a passive activity can no longer be engaged in combat by aggressive monsters.

Graphics improvements

  • Improve rapier attack animations.

Bug fixes

  • Fix incorrectly applied XP penalty (when doing a passive activity that is higher level than you via a level boost potion).
  • Fix all spottable thieves disappearing if you are on a particular step in The Battle for Fortunehold quest.
  • Made it harder to miss out on the reward for minecart work by skipping the chat.
  • Stop the player crawling in various places.
  • Fix oak tree not outlining in Treeway Trail.
  • Fix sense spell sometimes highlighting things which are outside the current room.
  • Fix various places where other players skip across a tile, instead of travelling across it normally.
  • Fix long keybind names not rendering correctly on the combat interface.
  • Fix some tiles on the map not clickable.
  • Fix some tiles which the player incorrectly could not walk on. (for example Bramble Path).
  • Fix missing damage kind icon sometimes missing on the weapon crafting interface.
  • Fix player portraits not always being updated when the player changes equipment.
  • Further improve the route finding of large npcs.
  • Fix various typos.

20 November 2024 - Unlisted update

No patch notes were published, but the build string was incremented to 0.8.1-11cf278ffe8bada0.

Quality of life

  • Make Hopeport hairdresser able to change your entire appearance (not just your hair). I know this doesn't thematically make sense, but its the quickest way to get this feature in to the game :)
  • Change bone spikes to require, and be boosted by, hand rakes (matching the animation).
  • Show damage numbers when watching other players doing combat.
  • Make 'use item' the default action on the reagent preparation station.

Graphics

  • Tweak combat flinch outlines a little more.

Bug fixes

  • Fix various typos.
  • Fix brown cow leather offcuts icons to show the correct graphic.
  • Use correct icon for grade 2 sickle.
  • Fix Daguer to tell you the correct level requirement for the first cape.
  • Fix incorrect "Not enough backpack space" message when equipping potions.
  • Bug fixes to 'cast net' fish, they no longer vanish or appear incorrectly when other players are using them.
  • Fix passive combat to show damage numbers, flinch outlines, and not to hide other players in the same room.

No patch notes were published, but the build string was incremented to 0.7.1-f609305087b6c398.

Quality of life

  • Make friends easier to spot by drawing their map icon, name and outline in a different color.
  • Improve appearance of combat flinches, and make the flinch outline color indicate the damage kind.
  • Make passive level boost potions better. They now ALSO allow you to buy passive ingredients the boosted number of levels earlier (whilst the potion is active).
  • Make yet more interfaces possible to close by clicking outside (and by pressing the escape key).
  • Make it clearer that passive item stacks contain 200 items, not 100. (By showing the item gain notification as 0.005 instead of confusingly rounding it up to 0.01).
  • Make it easier to pickup items which are underneath an npc, by making that is so that repeatedly clicking the 'open action menu' mouse button always cycles through each possible target, even if open menu is assigned to the right mouse button.

Audio improvements

  • Improved violins on Hopeport music tracks.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed bug where B.R.E.W.S. vat, T.E.A. machine and smelter didn't give enough knowledge when crafting multiple items at once.
  • Grant album cards for co-op activities (not just solo version).
  • If you are level 50 and have not yet chosen a faction, then if quest tries to give you combat XP, make sure you don't lose that XP.
  • If you are level 50 and have not yet chosen a faction, then prevent knowledge being spent on combat XP. (to avoid the XP being accidentally wasted).
  • Various typo fixes.
  • Fix graphical glitch when handcuffing some spottable thieves.
  • Make crime den raids show the correct handcuffs.
  • Make it so rotating the camera using the keys instead of the mouse still dismisses the camera rotate tutorial.
  • Fix bug where passive combat didn't resume properly on login (introduced by another bugfix last Sunday).

Just some bugfixes that couldn’t wait until Monday. Many thanks to the ppl who reported them.

QOL

  • Add option (in settings->graphics) to control if camera centers on the player or the room.
  • Add option (in settings->graphics) to disable the camera zoom in which occurs whilst doing an activity.
  • Make more interfaces respond properly to the escape key.
  • Make more interfaces possible to close by clicking outside.
  • Improve keybinds handling. "CTRL+letter" keybinds are now shown on the controls interface and are properly reconfigurable.

Bug fixes

  • Fix misaligned tanning recipe book interface.
  • Fixed missing elbows when wearing plate torso and plate gauntlets together.
  • Fix bug where "choose initial attack" interface didn't show your player's stats sometimes.
  • Fix "choose initial attack" interface to not show keybind for a weapon slot with no weapon in it.
  • If you try to mine the glowing stalagmite without a pickaxe, it now tells you that you need a pickaxe.
  • You no longer mention the crystal to the Ferryman if you haven't yet learnt of the crystal.
  • The dryad no longer misnames the cockroach leg as a stalagmite.
  • Stop other people's minecart deliveries from opening an annoying chat bubble.
  • Fix graphical glitch when two people loaded minecarts or made minecart deliveries at the same time.
  • Make map interface shimmer less when map is panning.
