Boss monsters are a subtype of monster intended to challenge the player. Currently they are only found as one-off encounters in some quests. Boss monsters are indicated as such on their information card.

Some boss monsters boast higher hp than normal monsters of equivalent level, and some have access to mechanics which players must react to accordingly to avoid taking significant damage.
