During the 2024 Christmas event, players can collect up to 20 unique hats while doing active activities that rewardsreward experience[[knowledge]]. Passive activities do not reward knowledge, and thus no Christmas hats.{{CiteTwitter|url=https://twitter.com/AndrewCGower/status/1866488834814562448|author=Andrew Gower|date=10 December 2024}} It is also possible to receive a duplicate hat, which can be swapped with another player. The event will end in early January 2025, after which it wont be possible to collect the Christmas 2024 hats. They offer no stat bonuses and are purely cosmetic, able to be applied over the player's helmet/head slot using the [[transmog]] system. The [[transmog]] system was first released together with this event.
 
Hats are obtained at fixed intervals, with 3 hats being rewarded for every 2 knowledge gained (approximately 67% knowlege per hat).
 
Collected hats are stored in a specific transmog inventory and do not use a player's normal inventory or banking slots.
